Rank Math (500 Error on admin-ajax.php)

    With Rank Math (free) active, I am unable to add items to the menu and the media library does not load when trying to add image to a page, additionally, it seems to prevent other ajax-related tasks completing. Console shows an error 500 related to the admin-ajax.php. Deactivating Rank Math resolves the issue. I’m using the latest version of the plugin and WordPress. I have tried deactivating all other plugins but Rank Math and the issue still occurs. The WP error log shows no errors, and the server error log doesn’t show any errors. The error is visible only in the console.

    Rolling back from 1.0.242 to 1.0.223 resolves the issue.

    Can you please share the error log with us? Having the error log file will give a clear idea of why this might be happening.
     
    If you’re not sure where to find the error log, you can get in touch with your web host, and they will help you locate the log file.
     
    However, we released the beta versions where we already fixed some issues in the latest version of the plugin.

    If you are unable to see an update, please clear Rank Math’s transients from WP Dasard > Rank Math > Status & Tools > Database Tools > Remove Rank Math Transients: https://rankmath.com/kb/rank-math-status-and-tools/#rank-math-transients
     
    Please clear the caches, server, and WordPress after updating.
     
    You can disable the Beta updates once you update to the latest version, and if the issue is fixed.
