Set in 1987, when South Korea was governed by a dictatorial government.
Graduate student Lim Soo-Ho (Jung Hae-In) is covered in blood and he jumps into the female dormitory at Hosu Women’s University. Eun Yeong-Ro (Kim Ji-Soo) finds him and helps to hide him. They develop a romantic relationship.
Lim Soo-Ho is graduate student at a prestigious university. He is Korean-German. He has charisma and he is also mysterious.
Eun Yeong-Ro is in the first grade of Hosu Women’s University. She is a major in English literature. She first met Im Soo-Ho on a blind date and fell in love with him at first sight.
Gye Bun-Ok (Kim Hye-Yoon) gave up entering university due to her poor family background. She now works as a telephone operator at a women’s dormitory. Pretending to be a university student, she attends a blind date with Eun Young-Ro. Gye Bun-Ok later gets involved in a case.
Lee Gang-Mu (Jang Seung-Jo) is the leader of team 1 at NSP (National Security Planning). He is a man of principle, who doesn't compromise in any situation.

Korea doesn't make too many dramas about this time period in their history because it's often too painful for them to remember it. This drama had everything: suspense, romance, humor, gorgeous cinematography and music score. Those who don't like it must have IQs of 70 or lower. Don't miss it!

Maverick Mar 08 2024 1:05 am I watched Snowdrop when it aired 2 years ago and fell in love with Jung Haein. 2 years later, I wanted to watch it again in order to appreciate Jung Haein's acting (which was excellent) but somehow I can't bring myself to do it. It's long and tedious to watch, full of annoying characters, with the story going in circles. I even got claustrophobia from the overextended hostage crisis inside the dormitory. Even the supposed love story was lame. And the kiss scene was...let's just say Jisoo is giving Park Shinhye a run for her money. I wish the casting director got a FL who is on the same level as Jung Haein in terms of acting experience. Anyway, it's okay to watch it the first time but I have to say that the rewatch value is very low. I wish someone would make an edit of just Jung Haein's parts. I'd happily watch that.

It is so original compared to so many other dramas made today that are like cookie cutters of each other and as predictable as death and taxes. The attention to historical details in Snowdrop was phenomenal. The OST gorgeous. The acting perfect. Kim Hye Yoon's acting especially stood out to me more the second time around. I think she's going to be a star.
Snow Angel Jan 06 2024 8:50 am Snowdrop had so much promise because of the success of the writer and director's previous drama, Sky Castle. The premise was interesting too: a North Korean spy, a university freshman, political conspiracies and maneuverings, etc. Who would have thought that the bulk of the story would be a hostage situation inside a university dormitory? It started good but went downhill from a certain point. I felt the story was going nowhere. That sad ending was the least of my complaints. The writing and directing were messy, and some of the acting were cartoonish. Jung Hae In, Yoo In Ah, and most of the senior actors delivered good performances. Blackpink Jisoo and some of the junior actors' acting was lacking. Some of the comedy fell flat and were outright corny. I was really disappointed, tbh.

There are some really dumb & comical elements to it which makes it hard to take it seriously. Character development is lacking. Finale is predictable. Just overall not as well made as it could've been. Not recommended!

Laura Jun 24 2023 5:52 am Its amazing this show didnt got many awards may be due to those controversies , feel sad for whole cast who tried their best. Those accusations were wrong in the end. Im glad authorities gave them to telecast such a good drama with little alterations . There are so many stupid dramas with bad acting but they want to sabboge such a masterpiece when this story says its fictional .
Laura Jun 24 2023 5:43 am This is a masterpiece ,a classic. Writer is so good . I never think I felt college girl fall in love with the spy who hold them hostage would really make sense. You should watch this ,this is a very beautiful love story ,their love is selfless so pure. And agent couple is amazing also their love language with those words expressions. Both love teams had very minimal skinship but lot of understanding . This is not just a romantic story. Story about survival ,friendship ,power, politics , ideology .
After mr sunshine this is my second favorite . Jisoo please act more . When considering most new actresses you are a gem. No overacting very natural so good chemistry .

I got kinda bored in some political teams but actually you feel connected to story after 3 episodes . Acting is superb. Main lead is amazing , female lead is great ,cant believe its her first lead role she is very natural in acting no overacting . I never even remember idol Jisoo but the character .

A Show I’ll never be able to forget because of its unique storyline . I have watched hundreds of kdramas and nothing close to the plot and setting . Such a unique Kdrama , Kudos to the Writer and director. The Cast was phenomenal, such a star studded cast and all of them Performed to a high clip. Including our beautiful Jisoo.

Athena May 26 2023 6:33 am I actually liked Bun-ok as a character but there could've been so many different ways her character could've improved, and I loved the chemistry between her and commander Joo.
The main couple has very amazing chemistry amoungest them having to be a certain type of enemies. The chemistry throughout the whole show is honestly amazing. I also loved the casting, whoever chose the cast did an extraordinary job. The cast was practically perfect, I literally can't see anyone else playing the role.
I give this drama a 8/10. I was sad with what happened in the end but I was also very happy, I do still hope Bun-ok and commander Joo get together.
Anyways, if your deciding whether not you should watch it, I'll help. I completely recommend this drama to anyone and everyone. Thanks for reading :)
Jung Ah Jung Apr 16 2023 5:37 pm IDK why someone will not like a drama and have to come talking about they endured it. If I'm not really liking a drama, I go to something else. It's not that hard. Unless maybe you just feel the need to complain.
May Apr 13 2023 9:07 pm And their chemistry, oh my goodness. I haven't felt a really good chemistry among leads since I'm not a Robot. When they touched each other's hand for the first time, I already knew I found the best couple of the year haha.
This drama actually reminds me of Chicago Typewriter whose story goes back and forth to 1930s and modern time. I although I liked it I was hoping the drama could have focused more on 1930s plot since it was more interesting. This is something that Snowdrop did right, it brought us back to 80's the setting was just so beautifully made.
Watch it guys and have patience. It will be worth it.
May Apr 13 2023 8:49 pm I don't usually post reviews about K dramas but right now I just feel like I have to defend this drama for the sake of those who are hesitant to watch it because of the several negative reviews.
Now, I was not a blink, nor a fan of Jisoo or hae in before watching Snowdrop. So I have zero expectations upon starting this, but after episode 2 I couldn't get my eyes off the drama. I could only see Jisoo dancing and singing on stage but now I'm actually amazed that she can act too. She's really good guys in expressing her emotions and making facial expressions necessary for her character. Nobody can convince me otherwise about this one. Hae in has been in a lot of romance dramas that I haven't watched at all, though I've seen a few clips and trailers. But this is the first time he's in a very serious character (I think?) doing a lot of action. And I personally think this type of character suits him better.
The tension just rises in every episode like a bomb that's about to explode. I'm a sucker for romance dramas but not cliche love stories with shallow storyline, and you know the typical boy meets girl and then they break up and reunite again. I want something more than just romance and Snowdrop just gives me what I want to see.
Political storyline in kdramas disppoint me most of the time cause they're boring and feels like just being added just to fill in the 16 episodes, but I don't feel that way in Snowdrop. The politics part actually contribute to the whole plot and does not feel awkward.
Although I admit that there's still room for improvement like the lights could have been better, some redundant lines and very few unnecessary scenes, mostly the show did a better job than most dramas out there.
David Mar 26 2023 4:37 am I just finished this punishingly long drama. I haven't been as disappointed in a kdrama in a long time. I'm going to assume that if you liked this show, you're one of the following:
a) Jisoo + Jung Hae-in shipper b) sucker for the doomed lovers scenario c) Korean history buff with a masochistic interest in the 1987-1988 period d) love boring, barely believable bad kdramas
What attracted me to this was Jung Hae-in and Jisoo in a very strong showing as a leading lady, very strong secondary and tertiary cast, the setting and the potential to explore the North-South setup. While JHI and JS do as much as they can in their selling of the main relationship, the middle 75% of the show is plodding, hostage situation crap with a poorly-drawn political intrigue piece between the players who are charged with resolving the crisis.
Three dudes with barely enough ammo, zero food, barely any sleep and zero plan manage to sustain a hostage situation for literally weeks? I've seen insect sci-fi that's more believable.
There isn't enough of the North-South intrigue - it's purely monetary and transactional. There's nothing to make you root for the three spies other than "Hey, Jung Hae-In and Kim Min-Kyu are cool!" After providing several of the college students with real personalities in the first three episodes, they're turned into lifeless pawns in a chess game. Why would I care about what happens to them when they're reduced to this? There's the usual "I can't believe he/she was actually X" retcon stuff that's common of kdramas.
By far the most interesting character is Kang Cheong-ya. She's got the most to lose and yet puts it out there when she thinks it's worth it. Also a badass.
If you manage to make it all the way to the ending, well, I hope you like it. I didn't. A crap payoff for watching super, super long episodes... 1:20-1:30 average.
Would not recommend - save yourself 20+ hours of your life.
RIP Kim Mi-Soo... such a huge loss :(

Jenny Dec 29 2022 8:56 am Of course it’s fiction. And the plot is full of holes. But it’s still a fabulous show that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end. The acting is superb. Kim Ji-Soo does a wonderful job in her role, exhibiting vulnerability, sensitivity and a sort of awkwardness one associates with people in their late teens. Jung Jae-In is an accomplished actor who plays the role of the conflicted spy superbly. Although the series drew criticism from those who thought it tarnished the reputation of those who protested against the military dictatorship of South Korea, it actually emphasizes how precious and hard-won proper democracy was, when it finally came some 10 years later.

A bit bored with kdramas these days but this drama blown my mind. I even bought the bluray for the first time only for this drama.

I love the 80’s and felt like its going to be more about family , friendship and love but its not they kept dragging action and not a good one . Sorry but I wasted my time watching this drama .

While I do believe that people have a right to be upset at the romanticization of spies in the 80's, I think they did a great job at skewing the narrative and creating a good fictional rendition of historical events. Jisoo's acting debut truly blew me out of the water and I hope she gets many awards for it, along side Hae-In, who is such a great seasoned actor. I cried, I got angry, I was frustrated, and on the edge of my seat the whole time!

It had lots lots of heart warming, and endearing moments. And, it was provoking - causing anger and screaming at the TV moments!
I only wish this drama could have been - would have been distributed by or Viki. I believe it would have then had the recognition and larger viewer base it so definitely deserved.
Snowdrop is far beyond well worth watching.

KST May 21 2022 9:02 am I just finished watching snowdrop. Wow what an amazing series. The story was really impressive. A north korean spy fall in love with a south korean girl. Wow this is not just a North korean -South korean story but a legend. This story will remain in my mind forever.The plotline is really amazing. Actually the every single moment of the story is very is impressive. The story is very curious. Nobody knows what will happen in the other moment. For that much the story is interesting. Specially how North korean spies and south korean ANSP agents get involved with the dormitory with the female students are really nice.Apart from the story the acting is really praisable.Jung hae in and Ji soo had a great chemistry and their acting was really natural. Ji soo as a rookie actress is acting really amazing in this series. Her emotions were very clearly expressed in her acting in every moment. I really appreciate her acting as a new actress. I think she would be a great actress. Apart from main actors all the other actors were really excellent in acting. This drama is full of romance ,action ,thriller ,friendship ,political ,melodrama and all. In fact all drama fans will like this. I recommend this series to everyone who would like ti watch action, romance,political melodramas.Hope you too enjoy watching this series. Saranghae!!!
Nathaniel B. May 18 2022 3:16 pm I recommend it. The starting episodes are dramatic but done with a light touch. From the point when the spies from the North and the NSA agents join forces the episodes become intense and truly exciting. (I honestly thought the 33 girls being held hostage were going to die. Oh, no, that can't happen!) Unfortunately, the inbetween was rather tedious. It always seemed to be going nowhere fast. The lead actors were very good, at times infuriating, at times touching, but always watchable. As for the politics of the drama, the analogy between the military dictatorship of the South and the cult-of-the-personality dictatorship of the North is fairly drawn and honest. Both governments at the time were heinous, and criminally callous of human life. In the final episode, however, there is a denunciation of the radical ideology of communism that makes the necessary differentiation between the two.

I think this show promotion was not so good, because I really thought I wouldn’t like it, and I was so surprised it was different from what I thought and loved each episode and to love and hate the characters. Photography, storyline, ost, characters everything perfect and heartfelt. I’m really glad I watched it.

Big applause for all people involved with this drama. Some might find it too draggy but I found it interesting, I lost my sleep for this! This is also my first Hae In's drama and I'm his biggest fan now. He acts with his eyes, what a super talented actor he is!!

Manuever7 Apr 04 2022 8:09 pm The story is very interesting, the love relationship that they can't bring it out because some invisible barrier, between a nation director's daugter and north korean spy. This drama made me take the story very serious, even though it the plot only took one place most of the time but still it's really complex in it. The allure driven is what made this drama absolutely interesting. I never got bored mid-episode, every characters is likeable. Especially people in Aemin party (Nam Tae-il yelling is crazy), they're so fun to watch!
Some scenes are really emotional, and I'm happy that I can see more Jisoo's acting, since this is her first debut drama. But I'm impressed of her acting skills. Average duration per episodes is 1 hour 15 minutes, but even you've done 1 episode you still figuring "what's next?" while bulding the urge to watch the next one. This is what I felt because how amazing the drama was. I'd say the ending is perfect due forbidden relationship, you can't get better than that to be honest.

80s Mar 17 2022 11:44 am What an exciting story oh wowww… watched so many hostage documentaries recently and this drama really blew me away!!! great inside of how horrible it can be if your held hostage and how the police and media can do so much wrong which can end with the life of the hostages … i recommend watching documentaries of the Gladbeck hostage crisis from 1988 (a hostage crisis from Germany) … seeing parallels! The team really got into DETAIL!! great acting too

Jill Feb 20 2022 9:16 am I found Snowdrop totally addictive. I was never once bored. The attention to details for 1987 styles were fabulous, especially in the wardrobe department and set design department. I was very impressed with Ji Soo. I don't follow K-Pop all that much so she was new to me here. At first I kept thinking she uncannily looked like a young Han Hyo Joo. Then as the story evolved I saw her as her own actress instead, with her own style. In my opinion you could not tell she was a relative newbie at acting. She made me cry and smile and I really felt for her character deeply. I also think this was Jung Hae In's best performance to date. I understood why he had to keep that poker face in some of the early episodes; we needed to keep guessing what his real character and background were all about. This is the strength of Korean dramas in general: character development. How the characters are in the beginning of the story is not how they will be by the end. They GROW. Whereas in most American TV shows you see very little to no character growth, they are more like cartoon characters. I love when I watch an unpredictable Korean drama like this one, and have no clue how it will end. That keeps me hooked! I give this drama an A+ for sure. All the secondary cast were fabulous as well, especially the older character actors. One minute they had me feeling sad or angry, the next minute they had me laughing with their antics. Don't get swept up in the political intrigue of the drama as much, both sides were at fault in this story: concentrate on the romance and the character growth of everyone in the story. Loved Snowdrop!
CpCats Feb 18 2022 6:25 am Bait and switch!! Don't be fooled, this is NOT a romance drama. I repeat, Snowdrop is not a romance. It is a political corruption, hostage drama/suspense. I'm giving this warning in case you are seeking a warm, sweet romance because this ain't it, chief. Jisoo is very good in this and I love Jung Hae In, but I was expecting something totally different. The hostage portion takes up the majority of this series and drags on. Snowdrop requires alot of patience. I don't know if I can recommend.

Not great. For the few ep i was like ok this is great, but then the hostage comes and ep after ep they kept spinning it around the hostage situation up until the end. I was like what? I definitely love the underlying plot, especially the mix between romance and political aspect of it. But the writer fails to mix up the two, and done badly at either of them. I feel like they just didnt go enough into the whole election scheme, and didnt have enough scene between yeongro and sooho together to make us (the viewer or maybe just me AHAHA) feel emotion, again, because i just feel like it is rushed.
ha eun byeol Feb 16 2022 9:56 am a little late but i just finished the series. it started out great but majority of the episodes revolved around the hostage situation and election scheme stuff which got kinda boring and draggy like they just keep adding problems to prolong the hostage situation which i think is unnecessary and cliche. its just a never ending cycle of hope and betrayal. the writers couldve done better but maybe this genre of drama is just not for me lol nevertheless the actors did an amazing job esp jung haein, even his eyes alone can act. jisoo's acting was good ig altho her breathing and grasps sometimes get too loud and awkward. wish she had minor acting roles prior to this tho. still hope she gets more projects to see her improvement.

In my opinion I thought she was fantastic the first three episodes and didn’t feel like a rookie during normal dorm scenes. Maybe she is used to blackpink dorm style during trainee days so it wasn’t really much acting for her. But then as the character requires more depth in the later episodes especially interactions and emotions with the male lead, all I get was crying and stuttering and even the cryings didn’t feel much. Wondering if any directors will use a rookie as female lead again

JHI of course, his acting skill is up to another level that this drama his sad eyes were so blended with the character. Jisoo, her first drama, she was good even as rookie. Actually, I like the drama that the plot was interesting. But it could be better if there would be more scenes outdoor. For me, it’s boring sometimes because all happenings were in female dorm.

Ana Feb 05 2022 12:12 pm I’m back after finishing the series. And Wow. i still think ratings should be a lot higher. This has been one of the first shows in a while that I wanted to binge. I was intrigued the whole time. Hae in as always did such an amazing job and so did the other cast. I definitely cried a lot. And also giggled at my phone a lot. The romance wasn’t too forced and I thought their chemistry was really good. The only negative is that I felt there was a lot of repetition. People getting tied up and escaping then tied up again and escaping again. I do think if that was cut out and this was made to be 13 episodes it would have been solved. But either way I will definitely have to rewatch. So So Good

Interestingly, i never got bored rather hooked to it. The anger to people in greed of power, the frustrations of highs and lows of emotions of nothing is working, the realizations of betrayal, then comes love that would wrap up the sacrifice envelope this drama into core. I knew from the very beginning that there is no twist of an ending, but still my heart is totally shattered. So thankful for people who fought that this show will not go down to drain. It is a masterpiece. I got stuck to Jung Hae In when i fell in love with him in Prison Playbook. Now i have to look for a drama that will heal my wounded heart.

For a first role as an idol ji soo is doing fine and Jung hae in makes up for the rest. This man delivers on every show/ movie he is casted in. Really hope more people give this show a try.

Jung hae in and Jisoo have an undeniable chemistry. I can't imagine another actress playing Youngro other than Jisoo herself. The way she cried made me cry too. The same goes for Jung hae in. That man can really act. I'm going to check his other dramas too. I'm becoming a fan of him. As a kdrama fan I'm becoming a fan of Jisoo too. I'll check out blackpink songs on you tube because of her. Thank you to all the casts the staffs the directors writer for making Snowdrop an amazing drama. Despite the ending It's still a masterpiece.

The drama is a political satire, about corrupt powerful circles, and young people who became victims of the fight for power and money. But the plot is complicated with many holes, discrepancies and storylines without proper answers given.
What was that with Soohoo absolutely weird family storyline, or everyone in the girls dorm being a spy and traitor, and how could the friendship and love end like that... Yes, the drama perfectly showed the darkness, but there could be more hope to give... I recommend to watch it till episode 15, and imagine an open ending...

Jung Hae In is phenomenal. The best work of him so far. And Ji Soo. Wow. Her acting as a rookie-idol actor for her first leading role is outstanding. And she chose a heavy drama for her main-role acting debut is really commendable. This is actually a satire drama targeted for the politicians on both North and South, and if people are not watching this just because of the criticisms during the production and beginning of the drama, they are definitely missing out on a masterpiece. Just go and watch this drama.
-SPOILER- The reasons I do not give this drama 5 stars are because I wish they wrapped up the relationship of Room 207 girls properly. Their relationship was much deeper than that and to left it hanging on a bad note without giving Yeong Ro the chance to explain really did not place well in what they were trying to show of their friendship from the beginning of the drama. It would also be more climactic if all the spies fought together in the dorm until the end, not just drop dead like that by the port. And as much as I hate Bun Ok, her relationship with Ramen guy was quite sweet, I actually wanted to see more of that. For the ending, there was a part of me that was being optimistic because the Director himself said he named this drama Snowdrop because Snowdrop is the first flower to bloom at the end of winter and the beginning of spring. It also symbolizes hope. But where is the hope? Aemin Party still rules, the three men are just pawns for the ruling party. They basically did achieve their political objective. And Yeong Ro is left all alone. How is she going to love another man in her life? It was so stressful to watch the goodbyes but at the same time, I still found it so beautiful and did shed my bittersweet tears. I also wish they gave an extended version of the kiss if that was going to be the only kiss scene in the drama (this is just me being a greedy viewer). Finally, I also want to say RIP Kim Mi Soo. She is such a natural beauty and my favorite among the roommates. All in all, a beautiful drama. Thank you JTBC & team. I will never forget this drama. Seolganghwa ♡

The ending is just...sad and tragic. In the end Yeong-ro lost Soo-ho, her big brother (she have another brother from her stepmother but considering Yeong-ro and her stepmother relationship I doubt they were close). Her friends hates her because she's not telling them about her father being Ansp director and her father thrown in jail to make up for his crime (not that it was bad, in fact it was supposed to be like that). So it makes Yeong-ro left alone by herself in the end and that just sad but overall this drama is good

Casts were all very outstanding on their acting. The cinematography is also great, I love the vibes and I think it gave justice to the era that they are depicting. The plot and scenes were kinda slow paced and could have had included more but it was okay, i guess. Some past issues regarding the broadcast I think were debunked (I’ve read a lot on both sides, like those who want this show to be discontinued due to some history inaccuracies, etc). Overall, I think this drama is great and the main leads as well as the supporting characters deserve awards on year end award shows!

However, the controverse behind it and the fact that the episodes were too long with unnecessary scenes can explain the ratings. I personally don’t hate the fact that the episodes were long but it has to bring an added value and for me it wasn’t really the case. I wish I could learn more about the main characters like the ANSP couple relationship & Lim Soo-Hoo past for example. I usually love this type of (revolutionary/ war / tragic / romantic ) drama but this time I was a bit disappointed ☹️. I don’t know … something bothered me with this one …. Peace.

It's the most depressing one among all the kdramas i've watched.You should ready yourself if you're planning to start watching this drama specially for the ending. The scene of Youngro listening to Sooho recording made me cry the hardest, i rewatched it so many times and i'm still crying really hard everytime.Youngro's probably one of the most unfortunate character on the kdrama world.Good job to our Jisoo and Haein for delivering such scenes.I really hope we can see the two of you again together. HaeSoo's chemistry was so good it was top tier.

Although it is settled in the past period, it is still unbored. I belive in Jung Hae In, yoon Se Ah, Yoon In Na, Kim Hye Yoon, Kim min Kyu because i have watched them in some dramas/movies. But this is the first time i saw Ji Soo in drama/movie. And She is really good here. I don't know about the fact in past related South Korea politics as the news said.But it is only a fiction story.

So far I would rate this drama a 9/10, but I'm really sure that after the finale it's going to be a 10/10 for me, if not now, then in a few months for sure! As I said this drama feels like something that ages like wine, after a while it becomes better and better!

I hope for the korean people to stop hating on this drama because even if it depicted their history not as exact as 1987 democratic movement. But it somehow reflects the injustice and the sad past that happened during that era. It something that koreans and other nations should watch and should understand so that it won't happen in the future.

Their interaction on and off cam is so cute. And the chemistry of the whole cast is good as well. They did a good job casting their artists. The plot twists so far has been good. It's keeping me on my toes. Hahahaha I just hope it will be available in + in north america. Or better yet will purchase it. Haha

But, after watching epsd 1-11, i start to understand why PD and writer chose her to play bun ok. Yes, bun ok has roller coaster character. In the beginning episodes, i thought she would be kind, bestie of FL, funny and cute too. But, then she is jeolous girl, and someone who makes us hate the character, and kim hye yoon nailed the character. Her acting was so good. And i think it's why she accepted the role. I still hope in episode 12 to the last episode, there will be more love line screens of bun ok and comrade joo and also the development of bun ok character again. Maybe bun ok will be kind and cute again. Kim hye yoon is the best supporting actreess here. I also want to see her bts on snowdrop.

I always get goosebumps when he screams in anger, her selfish and spiteful attitude is just like me being alone and can do anything to defend myself. Very sneaky. Wow. She's the most pathetic character, poor and selfless. Hahaha. But I like it because all humans don't have to be angels. People don't ostracize, only Hye Ja doesn't like it. She was the opposite of Young Ro's figure. But of course, kim hye yoon is no less beautiful than the others. Love you, hye yoon!
when everyone is attracted to the main character, the supporting characters are even more powerful and attractive. They build the storyline to be more exciting. So many plotwists. The director is very good at managing the emotions of the audience. Extraordinary. GBU.

This Drama brings back the memory of the Old times which is much more nicer than today. The props and everything in the setting were just soo amazing. Jisoo and Jung Hae In makes it soo wonderful to watch.

Yuni Jan 17 2022 11:15 pm Absolutely in love with Jung Hae-In's acting in this drama. I mean, this man has some amazing facial expressions, he can portray so much emotion with his eyes. Kim Ji-Soo is doing a great job in her first acting role, however, her character seems to be too much of a damsel in distress. This drama is dragging a lot as well so the damsel in distress thing is coming up way too many times.
Now to Jung Hae-In's character, this is the first time ever I want and expect a lead character to die at the end. I'm literally going to be ok with a Romeo and Juliet type of ending though I'm kind of thinking he's going to be the one who won't make it.
As someone said below, this character is completely irredeemable from a "real-life" point of view and yes I know this isn't real life. With everything he put Eun Yeong-Ro through and given that the whole situation is basically her fault for saving him in the first place, the only thing her character can have is PTSD and some intense years in therapy along with all the students in that situation. You can't just drink some coffee and erase stuff, that's just crazy. This character's actions are just too terrible to be forgiven no matter how kind of a soul he has and how hot he is because damn he looks great.
Seeing this going into a sad ending but given how things went so far this will probably be the only acceptable result.

PLan B Jan 16 2022 11:10 am Jisoo is surprisingly good knowing that she is a newbie. The role is hard for someone who has just started acting, it is more with emotion and staring because that is the role she was given. Her eyes, teardrops, and reaction are really overwhelming!
It is a little bit dragging for others but if you pay attention to details, there are numerous instances that the story needs those dragging situations inserted to build up the characters of each actor. So for those who stopped watching, you missed one of the best roles in Korean Drama. I agree it is not the best drama but at least it is added to the list of best Korean Drama.

Jisoo is doing awesome for her first lead role and I am amazed tbh. She is doing decent in potraying heavy feelings and Hae In is absolute charmer here. The cinematography is super pretty. The controversies are definitely justified but if this drama and its plotline is taken just as a fictional work , it is fun. The supporting cast is also so charming too. Sad to think it will come to an end in a couple of weeks

Nadi Ri Jan 15 2022 7:35 pm the story on each episodes are really getting better and better!!!! i really involved in the story, especially the 10th episode is just pure satisfaction! i mean all those background story of sooho and pi nim was made me totally emotional, also their stance on ansp and how they potray it i guess more make sense- also how they potray the message of how there was crazy politicians move in both part of the peninsula too, its quite bad to not mentioned it earlier tho. and yes im totally agree with bunch of comments here saying they starting off to watch how jisoo acts but at the end really involved with all of the amazing actors, and the same for me! even was i really mesmerized already by the opening animation scene!!! really hope this fictional work ends well

I love the emotions portrayed by the main lead ( Hae In) I know some think they’re showing the good side of the NSA and others but they’re showing the bad as well as the show proceeds you see how corrupt they are out off like 100 there’s maybe 1 decent person. But overall all opinions are valid but I am truly enjoying it. Jisoo is doing well for her first time, the story is a bit complicated so overall she’s doing well despite the circumstances.

I actually prefer watching her and haein than jisoo now. She’s too cast! My change in preference for supporting the cast is as unpredictable as the plot itself. But after 9 episode, I really enjoyed it. I know hae in was so great. But I just know he was good on melodrama as a Good boy, but now I know he can act as bad boy also perfectly. But for jisoo, I shock at how good she is. It's her first drama and wow, she ate this. I know some Korean drag her for her pronounce. But as international viewer who focus on subtitles, it doesn't matter on me. The fact that she can delivered young ro emotion perfectly can't be denied. You can drag her pronounce on some scene, but you can't say she can't act. Now i know why hae in also amazed on how good jisoo is. I Support this drama, it was so good. Now Jung Hae In, he is phenomenal. I can definitely feel his emotion in this show. But I mean in any of his dramas, I can feel his emotions. Can’t wait to see how this drama plays out in the end.

I'm not going to mention names but jisoo's acting is better than most idol actors that have been acting for much longer. This is her first role then you can Imagine how good her acting will be in her next project. Also this drama actually ended up being better than I thought, I have dropprd most of the dramas that got released around the same time like Now we're breaking up but surprisingly I found myself waiting for new episodes of this drama. I got bored watching the drame the episodes before because all they did was talking but I was so wrong. The plot is going so well. I don't like how the hostage scenes is being way too long but as I am watching this episode I now understand the importance of the hostage and stuff.
Jung Hae-in is showing a very different side of him and I'm so amazed how great his acting is. His voice is So Different I don't know what to say. Jisoo on the other hand, definitely needs some improvement. She is getting better and better in acting every episode and I'm amazed.
Although a lot of people are saying the drama is boring, I think it's different. Maybe it's because the plot isn't something very simple???? The storyline is very different and there's a lot of information to absorb. Once you understand how the drama works, it's so interesting to see the next episodes.
I was thinking of dropping the drama before but I changed my mind. I love how it's very thrilling.

I starting to think that this drama is some kind of satire because of how the characters behave. I hope they do a character arc to yeong-ro since I believe her character is too gullible and weak. Jisoo has really great potential in acting but i think the script are weak especially when needed. Anyway, i'm hoping this drama will get better in the upcoming episodes. I'm not dropping since i support Jisoo.

At first, it shows the north korean spies as the villain of the story since they hostage the students in the dorm and cause them trauma. Later on, it shows the higher ups true intentions. They only care for the election and not the life of the students. It shows how evil the government is and the ANSP. If you refer this drama as a boring drama because there's no romance shown, then better watch other dramas that focuses on romance. This drama is more on a mystery thriller than romance. It's not boring since it's not a typical drama. If you think that this drama is boring, then it's not for you then. Just try to understand the plot and what the drama is all about please. Thank you.

I think Jisoo as a rookie first time actress is not bad but definitely can’t reciprocate the male leads intensity. I think pairing him with Jisoo was a great choice. The story is romantic yet sad and mysterious. There’s plot twists and mysterious characters. I’m really enjoying this show it deserves praise, the acting is superb!

I tend to forget how to breath while watching. Jisoo and hae in's acting is superb. Including all of the other actors also. Can't wait for next saturday, seems like a long journey ahead.

I barely watched any kdramas in the past cos I always find them boring or too slow. Altho I have to agree that the hostage scenes are going on for too long by now. And first time watching Haein and I really like his acting! (I like him in the show more than as an actor himself so that goes saying he’s really good at it in the drama).

Acting is sooo good, the atmosphere, aesthetics and music everything so amazing. Also love super close up shots to their eyes, soo good. Haein is so amazing, never seen him like this, may be got little bit of this in prison playbooks first episodes, but I forgot already. Jisoo is amazing as a rookie actress. It's just like that Jan 03 2022 9:36 pm Did you guys notice it is going to be ep 8 and hostage situation is still going on. When it started in ep 3 we had thought it will end in ep 4 or 5 at most and then romance will bloom. but the fact that hostage situation will take up almost 50 pc of drama if it goes upto ep 10, wasnt expected. Scenes between im soo ho and yeong ru are heart fluttering tho i am not feeling it strongly because jisoos acting is very weak and cringey, jung hae in is working so hard to create that intensity but it goes wasted as fl can't match upto it. Did you guys notice jung hae in had quite a chemistry with yoo na tho they were together in just few scenes. Anyways, at this point i think im soo ho as a man has done so much damage that i don't think any woman should desire him. I think they are aiming to paint gang mu and im so ho both as victims of their respective govs planning and i think this point will be used to create sympathy for im soo ho by writers for both yeong ro and viewers otherwise i see no possibility.

How it's all going to play out in the next 10 episodes is going to be a fantastic journey. They are proving to be more like Romeo and Juliet Korean edition. A love that is pure but cannot be. As an international viewer, I don't understand the hate this show has garnered. My only wish is that + in North America have it available.

I got hooked ever since the hostage situation happened and I really want to know how everything will unfold despite my fear that the ending will be tragic. I hope that the ending serves justice for both Yeong Ro and Soo Ho but to be honest I'm a pessimist with these kinds of plot.
Anyways, I can't wait for ep 8 next week because the preview is full of heartbreaking and heart fluttering scenes.

I'm actually fine with the plot not being centered in the romance of two main leads but the story itself wasn't so good. Even the occasional dark humour being thrown out every now and then doesn't help. It's extremely slow-paced and I'm starting to think that the plot works better for a 2 hour movie. Still, i'm not dropping the drama because I support Jisoo and I would like to confirm if my theories in some of the characters are true. ?

I also want to point out Jisoo's acting. It is so good especially on the 6th episode (which I just finished). You can clearly tell she is getting better and better at her craft every episode. Although, I would say there's a lot of awkward parts. I didn't have high expectations for her so I was completely shocked on her acting. There's a some of parts where her voice tone is just so bad that makes her acting weird and it gives me second-hand embarrassment (since I'm a Blink). On some parts you can tell that she's just a rookie, but her acting is really amazing.
Jang Seung-Jo plays Lee Gang-Mu. His acting is out of this world. I've never seen any of his dramas so it's my first time seeing him. That scene where he chases Soo-ho with a gun was just ?. I was amazed by his acting. His charisma is also great. He's definitely my favorite character from the drama.
This drama has a lot of good things to look forward to. There's some annoying characters, but it has great plot. There's a LOT of suspense here so I would definitely recommend it. Although there's some scenes that some people may find boring since it's all just talking and talking, those scenes are so important. Everything about this drama is so good, the intro, casts, location, cinematography, and a lot. You can also see how society works. It's great drama ^__^

There is good and bad in everyone of them, just like a real human. The story is unpredictable, and every single character is memorable.

Cant believe jisoos acting though especially this is her first main drama I can see the glimpse of her not in her role sometimes but i see her releasing so much emotions and sympathy to sooho.
Overall the drama is doing just fine but i hope it will not end circulating around guns, bombs. Its tiring when its repeating just attacking each other.

Only thing I would change is how the NSA is portrayed I think they should’ve been made to be more evil I think they’re not showing their bad side as much. I think the drama overall is good though.

Male lead played by Jung Hae In as Lim Soo Hoo is portraying the two sides of his character so well (intense while on mission as a NK spy and showing his softer side with Yeong Roo, played by Ji Soo). As we enter episode 5, Soo Hoo is now in a conflicted state as he tries to protect Yeong Roo while fulfilling his mission.
Ji-soo played her role perfectly as a love struck college student thinking this is the perfect guy for her. The play of emotions in her face is so convincing - as she moves from hope, shock to disappointment.
The show is supported by an excellent supporting cast such as Gang Mu (played by Jang Seung Jo), his intensity as he tried to capture Soo Hoo and the unresolved emotion Han- Na (played by Jang Eugene) has for Gang Mu.
The comedic side of the show is also timed well, and this balances with the action/ thriller component of this show and the romance part.
I wish this show will not be cancelled - I am one big fan following the show!S

Im so hoo really is rude person who doesn't know how to payback his helper. The hostel setup looks very victorian era architecture inspired and its very attractive. One thing i feel is weird abput sudden change of situation moods in show. Drama will be going in a serious or semi serious mode tgen suddenly those serious situations will be turned comedic with funny music in bg like when two ansp chiefs were pulling each others hair. A serious and romantic tone would suit this show given the time period its set in

The historical context on the other hand, I think since intl watchers don’t have much knowledge about it, we might overlook some aspects of it and we shouldn’t try to argue with Koreans who think and feel otherwise. But for the controversy, I think all the actors, actressess, producer, team production, and crews are not dumb. Before they signed up for this drama, I'm sure they read the scripts first. I mean, who wants to have a role in drama that distorts their own country? We just need to give them a chance to finished the drama.

The actors are great. The FL is okay. Can't seem to connect with her. Given the context of the story, her character seems misplaced and out of sync with everyone else.
In all, I don't see how this can have a good ending.
Snowflake Dec 26 2021 1:58 pm I knew about the controversy surrounding this drama but as a fan of the SKY Castle team, I decided to watch it first to see for myself if there is anything offensive about it. My conclusion: so far (I've watched up to episode 4), I haven't see any of the allegations, like glorifying North Korean spies or the ANSP, actually happen in the drama. The spy has no involvement in the pro-democracy protests. I understand that there will be people who'll feel uncomfortable watching it but I think it would be unfair to call for its cancellation just because you're uncomfortable with it. I hope you all can give this drama a chance. The love story is sweet and poignant (I feel like they're a doomed couple) while the political maneuverings of the powers-that-be are repulsive and disgusting. I can't wait for what will happen next. 10/10 for me. I'll leave a review again after the drama ends.

in any case, kim jisoo is doing a great job so far. i feel so much for her character. i hope at least the drama's ending will be a happy one.

But one drawback of this drama is the lack of a fair share of screen time for some players. It's called Yoo In Na who only appears in seconds duration. This proves that there is no equal distribution of screens compared to other supporting actors. The duration that Yoo In Na got was not commensurate with the sequence of roles he took after jisoo and jung hae in. It's a shame if the supporting cast only appears for seconds.

All I am seeing from the first 3 episodes are mostly about romance, honestly, the acting is pretty decent so far. I am going to give the drama a solid 8/10. Be patient and watch it end, yall are like summoning some historical facts, but I am just watching this drama for the romance no cap.

I would just like to say that the drama in itself is truly great, a top notch korean drama with a stellar cast, acting, plot, soundtrack and cinematography. And I have faith that the misunderstands will get cleared up because why would this many famous as well as veteran actors put their entire career and reputation on the line and still continue to be apart of this drama when it first got into an controversy earlier in the year? They all had the chance to drop out and none of them did which says a lot, let's just wait and watch and see.

Watch without hate please. about the romance of North and South, CLOY also did that and we all just enjoy watching it as it was fictional too. Besides, Jisoo is so cute and I can see she is very talented in acting! Can’t say no more about Hae In, we know that he is a very good actor! Rooting for this drama to continue until the end!

Foreign people around the world will watch this knowing that this is just a fictional story and wont affect the how foreigners think of the Korean history. First time i dont know about the issues that people talk about this drama because i think the story will be interesting as crash landing on you kdrama which is about a love story of a north korea man and a south korea girl. Maybe some viewers learn the story background of drama like history but i am type of viewer who only care about the love story between characters than other stories. Pardon my ignorance about the history. i still love this drama

First, the acting is amazing, as expected from the cast. Jisoo is good at acting and I hope she'll have a bright future as an actress. The plot, the chemistry, the cinematography are also good! People should give this drama a chance! It has the same director and writer as Sky Castle! Don't worry about the controversy, Snowdrop will continue to air.

They did deal with North Korea to comprise candidate of democratic movement in presidential election and made him looked that he has connections with North Korea. Probably Soo-ho is not aware of that just like ANSP. To make it real only higher ups knows about plan.

JTBC, director, nor the writer has said anything about what is happening and it might be because they do not want to spoil the plot but this is a really important issue. I hope it goes this way because as much as I love the cast, Blackpink are my ults and Hyeyoon is my favorite actress, I do not feel comfortable watching a show that romanticizes something so tragic.

I love how each casts were given fair screen time and its not just focus on the leads. But Yoo Inna's role yet to be seen much so im waiting for it. Also Haein's smile throughout the show got me like :)))) And his chemistry with the FL is crazy. Also the girls in room 207 is hella funny. Actually I'm a bit annoyed with Boon-ok but i feel pity to her. Kangmoo and Jang Hanna too, annoying but their charisma is crazy. Ah, i read this theory somewhere, but someone said that Suho maybe isn't a spy(?) I don't know where to believe but I will find it through out the episodes. Yes, I'm gonna watching this till the end. And their love story omg. I have feeling that it will be sad. Suho and Youngro is ill-fated. Just like youth of may :((

Lana Dec 20 2021 12:02 pm Every single actor is phenomenal and this show is very entertaining, while Jisoo and Jung Hae In are the face of this drama they don't have overhelming screentime and so everyone gets to shine. Jisoo is good for a newcomer and is the same as any new actress. It's nice that multiple actors from Sky Castle are in this as well. I'm curious about Yoo Inna's role though because she hasn't been shown much but she's clearly an important character and she's third billing after the two leads.

Especially for Park Sung Woong, he's my favorite actor! Also familiar faces from Sky Castle and Baek Ji Won (she's soooo versatile and talented). Hope their roles are not too small :))

I am not talking about the lead ones, but supporting cast - the veterans of Korean screenplay. I was not interested in this show before, but after looking at the cast I will watch it, especially for Park Sung Woong, my favorite actor *-* I also like KHY and BJW (she's soooo versatile), Kim Jung Nan and Yoon Se Ah in Sky Castle, Jang Seung Jo in Familiar Wife, Jeon Mu Song in the Guest and Jung Ae Ri in many dramas (looks like her role here is similar to Sky Castle lmao). Anyways, the supporting cast definitely caught my attention, I am looking forward to these talented brilliants in this drama.

First, I'd like to say I'm so proud of Jisoo not because I love Blackpink but because she's doing a great job for her first kdrama. But since I don't wanna be too biased because I may sound like I'm supporting everything Jisoo does just because she's from Blackpink. I've gotta say that she doesn't quite seem like the leading actress in Snowdrop. She doesn't quite talk a lot in the series which quite disappoints me as she looks and feels more of a supporting actress. I mean Kim Hye-Yoon isn't the main actress in the series but I'm getting leading actress vibes from her if you know what I mean. I'm still gonna watch this drama just to see how it goes in the future, after all, I'm still on the 2nd episode so I can't wait for how it progresses in the next 14 episodes. Please focus on Jisoo and let her say more lines so I can actually feel like she's the protagonist in the series. HWAITING!!✊

The intro was amazing! It feels sad though and I don't know why but as what the Lead Cast have said in an interview, "tears" is one of the words they used as a clue.
So excited for the other episodes to be posted. So far, so good! You guys, didn't disappoint us. Even though, I already know that this is gonna be a sad ending, I am so much ready for it. My tears will be worth it if this is would be the K-drama I'm gonna cry for.

Good amount of comedy mixed with drama. The dorm girls’ acting was impressive! I felt like i was living at the dorm as well. The blind date felt quite accurate. Love how the director made sure to pay attention to every little detail.
Cant wait to see how the story is going to be/turn. I’m hooked and will definitely keep up with this drama. Good thing christmas holidays are starting, so enough time haha.
And yes Jisoo, you did good for your debut! You can act very well.

I mean, c'mon, we haven't even seen the first episode yet so we can't jump to conclusions and say Youngro is just a weak girl whose whole purpose is to fall in love with Sooho. If if she were weak, wouldn't it be interesting to see her developing and becoming strong through the series? Only now they've decided the time slot and tentative airing time (December 2021). Lost will end on 31st Oct. After that 6 weeks of Koo Kyung Yi drama. Looks like we have to wait until 3rd or 4th week of December to start this. From all the delay, it makes me wonder whether they are retaking the entire drama after the Korean history controversy.

However, there are still many things wrong with this drama that are disrespectful to Koreans. Koreans immensely respect the sacrifices and losses that the activists made to bring South Korea democracy. When this movie degrades the situation to a "black comedy", South Koreans have their right to be offended and concerned. Although the statement says it satirizes the elections, not the movement, the timeframe was all about the movement. Also, don't call everyone "stupid" because they are standing up for what they believe is right.

This drama is set in 1987. 1987 was a key year in South Korea’s popular democratic movement that led to the establishment of the present-day republic. Students started the Gwangju Uprising (민주화 운동) to protest against martial law. Many Koreans (including students) were killed in the process by police and government officials with the excuse of them being “North Korean”. It was necessary for South Korea to become a true democracy.
Here Are the Problems about Snowdrop:
(Yes, the statement says it satirizes the elections not movement, but that timeframe was all about the movement. You can't take the movement out from the drama.)
China does not like SK. SK does not like China. (SK side shown in next comment) China does not like the Gwangju Movement, why wouldn't they twist the respected movement to their benefit?
Then what would be their benefit? This drama has High-Profile actors with huge worldwide fanbases (especially Jisoo). Most young fans would suck up all the stuff in the drama. (Yeah, it's fiction. Hisorical-fiction. Fiction built on history.)

The drama might get high ratings and all that hype but at the end what matters is plot and how well it's carried by the actors atleast for me. While I am sure of all actors here I am skeptical regarding jisoo's acting, I hope her few years of acting training helps her in some ways.

There are a lot of people I like in this drama so I will watch it but Ji-Soo will certainly be under a microscope to have been chosen as a lead. Also, anyone saying "there is no lead", stop lying to yourself. Ji-Soo is the lead. Hopefully, her few years of acting training can deliver a performance worth being lead over the many seasoned actors here.

Mio26 Feb 15 2021 5:31 pm I watched 3 dramas of this author and last thing which I'd say about them that they're boring. Especially at the begining all very were very interesting and fresh. The only problem for some viewers can be that this author like dark and kind violent plots and potrayed ambigious morally people. Taking into account that this will be about protest of 1987 and works of secret Police (they tortured people at that time) this drama can be similar dark like Bridal mask. Probably that's why Jisoo was casted to convince international viewers who not necessary are fans of such historical dramas. It is kind probably that author have worked some time on scenario and just success of sky castle helped her to convince inwestora. Historical political dramas are rarely made in Korea, maybe because 80 is still kind controversial topić.

Well I think the plot is really interesting, knowing that at 1987(korea) was the time students died and democracy was born. It was in the desc that Jung hae in has a deep secret and is mysterious. Also the fact that the director and screenwriter are from the high rated drama Sky castle, makes me excited even more. There are pictures of them already shooting and I think they’ll have a scene at the blue house?? which makes it even more exciting. I think this drama is a combination of some thrilling and political issues with romance since I think there will be a love triangle between Jisoo, Hae in and Hye yoon. So excited!!

G14 Dec 28 2020 1:34 am Yoo In Na confirm to join this drama. It's daebak with all the superb casts. Yeah, hae in and Jisoo are the lead casts. They will be main focus of the plot story. But, other main casts: hye yoon, yoo in na, jang seung jo, yoon se ah, and jung eugene (they deserve to be lead casts too), it will waste their talents if they only appears in few scences / lines.
I mean i hope the story will cover all the casts fairly. They get same portion.
Hopefully, this drama will be successful. Hwaiting all casts and production team.

She should deserve more since she has proven her acting as kang ye suh (in sky castle) and eun dan oh (in extraordinary you). But she accepts this role though she must be supporting role again. I trust and believe in her decision.
Maybe though she isn't main lead here, but her character as a phone operatos in 1987 is big enough. It's challeging and interesting for her.
I still will watch this drama for kim hye yoon. Who knows? She'll act well again and get awards through this role.
I support all casts and team production. I hope the plot will be interesting like sky castle, one of Writer and PD work, a great drama ever

All the actors casted in Sky Castle had perfectly delivered their role and won acting awards for it. If either of the girls will be the main FL please respect both of them. The director had surely casted the one who suits the main FL more.

It’s most likely harder to market a drama if the lead actress doesn’t have much experience (even if she is popular). I think this is a huge step for her already compared to the tiny roles she’s gotten so far. I’m looking forward this :)

I really love Jisoo and really wanted to see her act in a proper drama for so long. I know she will do well in this. And you guys if you watched Blackpink interview with Zach, Jisoo said she was excited for this drama so please don't think she is half assing it. Jisoo tries very hard in whatever she does. I really believe she will do well. Whatever happens, remember that the director of Sky Castle chose the lead, so if Jisoo and Hyeyoon auditioned and he thought Jisoo was a better fit for the role given the character then she deserves it. And I think a lot of you are forgetting sometimes first female leads are easy roles because it's not hard to act sweet and 2nd female lead is harder because its hard to act like a b*tch and a lot of the times 2nd female character is more complex. Whatever the decision is trust the director in who he thinks is best for the role and how he judged each of their auditions.

Therefore to give the same quality of acting as Sky Castle I think they need main leads with acting experience. So same as other opinions here, likely it will be Kim Hyeyoon for the main FL.

You know, in a drama it is not only the main character who struggles, but supporting cast, production staff, directors and writers are struggles also. Elena Aug 27 2020 7:10 pm FYI, When the drama Snowdrop was announced for the first time. along with offer news of the main lead role for Kim Hye Yoon around June. in August Jisoo was confirmed as the main character. a few days later Kim Hye Yoon confirmed the offer of the main character as well. after that, news emerged that Jung Haein had received an offer as the main character, but it has not been confirmed, a few days later news emerged that Seung Jo had been confirmed as the male lead. So the conclusion is a lot of main protagonists lead. for now, don't make too many assumptions before getting the definite news from the production team.
wooney Aug 27 2020 11:27 am in my opinion, all 4 are going to be protagonists; if this is made by the writer who wrote sky castle, then it is highly likely that there will be multiple leads with their own personal story, similar to her previous work. as far as im concerned, they not only confirmed jisoo as a protagonist, but they also confirmed hye yoon as a protagonist as well. and hye yoon was actually announced for this drama first a while back, she just officially accepted her role recently. i really hope jung hae in accepts the role, and they revise the rumored plot a little. im lowkey looking forward to hye yoon the most tho, with her resume there is no doubt she's going to kill this role. im super excited to see her growth. as for jisoo, im rather nervous bc she's taking on her first lead role with no acting experience; however, i hope she does well, and im rooting for her. she was originally an acting trainee after all.

For me I believe the PD and writer behind the high rated drama Sky Castle won't disappoint us in casting the male and female leads. I hope they can focus more on the plot and not be a heavily romance drama. Sky Castle became a hit because it focuses more on the family relationship and toxic education system plus all actors are given a fair amount of screen time. I hope it will be the same in this drama.

Lara Aug 26 2020 1:25 pm Jisoo, Kim Hyeyoon and Jang Seung Ji are confirmed as the leads and Jung Hae In is still considering (it’s kinda obvious he will accept the role tho it’s too good of an offer to pass up). I’m truly intrigued by what kind of roles they will be playing and if any love lines will happen? I just hope that Jisoo won’t be in a love triangle, it would be too hard to watch. Also there is no actual plot of this drama out so it’s not true that it’s set in 1980’s or about a North Korean soldier, those are just theories based on the manga which has the same title as the drama but nowhere in reports have they stated that it’s based on any manga. Moreover the writer for this always has original scripts so it’s safe to say we don’t actually know anything. It makes sense tho that the plot isn’t out because I think half of this drama if not the entirety will probably be pre-produced.

What can I say more about you, just hoping he accepts the offer, jtbc has been my fav chanel for dramas alongside with tvn.. Eventho in another platform I saw some people criticized the sinopsis of the drama, but what can I say? Jisoo hasn’t even shown her full potential on screen and has been trained as an actress. And what makes ppl think Kim Hye Yoon even auditioned to be fl? Maybe she auditioned for a side character? And the directors + screenwriters obviously casts good ass people. Like they casted Jung Hae-In and Kim Hye Yoon,, this is telling me already that Jisoo must be good for the fl role if the castors are getting top actors lmao. I mean they made sky-castle, like??
