After graduation, Ka Yeol-Chan (Park Hae-Jin) landed his first job at a company. His boss there, Lee Man-Shik, was a "kkondae" which refers to a rigid, old school type of person. He would force his old school ways of thinking on Ka Yeol-Chan. Due to Lee Man-Sik and his old school ways of thinking, Ka Yeol-Chan quit his job there. Ka Yeol-Chan then found a job at a ramen company. He worked very hard and was promoted unusually quickly, due to his radical planning and aggressive marketing. Ka Yeol-Chan now works as the chief of the sales and marketing department at the ramen company. His position actually wields the most power in the company. One day, Ka Yeol-Chan gets a senior age intern. That intern is Lee Man-Shik, who gave him such a hard time at his first job.

K Jan 04 2024 6:16 am Watching episode 4 now and I would say this is a MUST watch drama. I have a feeling that this will turn into heartwarming drama in latter episodes. I don’t know, I just feel it (without reading any comments below so far).I don’t even know if there is a romance part on this drama. Four episodes, no boring moments so far. If it’s Park Hae Jin drama I’m gonna watch it!
Park Min May 10 2023 9:22 am It's a decent office comedy with good dynamics between the male leads but it fell short when they included Tae Ri into the mix. Tae Ri had the chance to elevate the dynamic even further if she and Yeol Chan were to be involved together, this would give Man Shik and Yeol Chan another layer to their dynamic. This would also help providing another plot line to better fill the 12 episodes because it was getting a bit dry with the jokes in the later parts.

Helen Sep 12 2021 2:05 am Kkondae Intern is such a great drama. If you want to find a funny office series, it is perfect for you. Story line is natural and entertaining, and there are many situations and characters relating to real life. Once, I thought Kkondae Intern would be a revenge drama but no. Character development makes me have a sense of sympathy with them and laugh a lot. Park Hae Jin and Kim Eung Soo have a better chemistry than I expect

Spicy Chicken Ramen Jul 06 2021 11:14 pm I enjoyed this show! If you enjoy office comedy this series is for you. At first, I thought Kkondae Intern will be a revenge show but this turns out to be a person trying to be the best manager he can be. As always, nobody is perfect and the manager always have people who don't like him/her for one reason or another. Managers, as well as office workers, will struggle to do what is best for the company. While others are working to do what's best for their own careers (not caring at all what happens to the company). Kkondae Intern managed to incorporate all this into a comedy, with a little... romance.
I should say I do like how they portrayed the interns. Interns very often work their asses off hoping to get hired fulltime and their world come crashing down when they don't.

Congrats Park Hae Jin on the daesang, you deserved it! Kim Eung Soo is such an amazing actor too, love your acting. All the supporting characters have interesting stories. 10/10 one of my top comedy kdrama

Jane Mar 31 2021 11:00 pm Man Sik aaaaa! Hahahah i laughed a lot while watching this show and all thanks too our kkondae Lee Man Sik! I laughed hardest at the scene where both mansik and yeol chan were deserted in the beach because of the storm and yeolchan was surprised that mansik brought so many things with him hahahaha. Man Sik's expression was so funny, he was born to be a comedian!
AJ Jan 21 2021 9:46 am I really enjoyed this drama. The script is very good---no wonder (a contest winner). The comedy is very nice, even the twist at the latter episodes. Kim Eung-Soo gave a very smooth acting, very natural kkondae. Han Ji-Eun too, nice. For me, having Moon Sook, the Wigen of The Uncanny Counter, partaking in this show is an added treat. Highly recommended for those who are still unsure.

chweischew Sep 26 2020 3:52 am just finish watched this drama. i think this is the best drama i've ever watched.. at first i watch it coz of Park Haejin then i started to fall in love with other 6 of them (Ka Yeol-chan's employees).. they're so hillarious.. the way they inserted the plot twist and explained every details of it very well...

Lala Jul 29 2020 11:34 pm Forgot to include Joonsu Food senior interns, Eom Han-Gil and Ok-Kyung, as my favorite characters too! Moon Sook looks so elegant. I like how funny the minor supporting characters are. Also, Park Ki Woong acting is pretty good too since I saw him in Return (another K-drama). Great comedy genre K-drama in 2020.
Lala Jul 29 2020 10:10 pm First episode gave me a bad flashback of my old boss, but this hilarious drama grew on me despite the first bad impression. Lee Man Sic, that cockroach autopsy doctor, and Ms. Tak are my favorite characters.
Though, beware if you are highly sensitive to animal abuse such as dunking live octopus into boiling pot of water. I know mainly Westerners (or non-Koreans) are affected by that. Usually just a Korean cuisine culture where it's common to do that because they think the taste is fresher when dunking live seafood in boiling water.
{Just my random rambling thought: I wonder why (I know the reason was for the plot but still...) they didn't release instant cup/bowl noodle version or kimchi flavor because they could advertise kimchi having probiotic properties helping gut flora for digestion, but instead, they released seafood flavor - which to me is not good idea in a business perspective due to shellfish allergies and losing some spicy chicken flavored ramen customers due to possible cross contamination. Releasing instant cup/bowl version would been more smart. Or they could have made their Webfoot ramen advertised as instant simplified octopus champong (k-drama fans should try champong irl)}

But I'm a bit unsatisfied about the ending, it pictures that KYC and LMS will always working as interns until the end their lives. I was hoping LMS and LTR will be working together in KYC new company and KYC Ramyeon will be successful although it is not as big as Joonsu Ramyeon.

Kdrama intern Jun 23 2020 1:04 am I love this drama!!! Sadly this gonna end with 2 more eps. But whoever want to watch, it's a good drama to. You can see them from being an "enemy" to "best partner". I love the chemistry of Yeol chan and Man sik. Park Hae Jin act is good really! I hope he can get more power role in the future. His funny character is cute tho lol. Han ji eun too, this is my first time watching her and I alrrady think she deserves more role! She's good at this character, firstly you might think she is annoying cause of her character but her character is what we need tho. She's s super energetic, not to say her love for food. But she also have justice in herself. Also I hope Namgoong Joon will change. He's being like that for reason. I think he's not really evil person. He has a good side. And the rest you know how good this story. Maybe there some lacking explanation but well other than that it's good.
Spoiler warn : I can't believe that Lee Taeri is Man sik's daughter!!! Very shookk lol.

Actually it has everything that a good drama needs to have! Intesting story line and strong acting .. beside as a comedy series it's so fun and I felt really great after watching each episode ... I hope all of you watch and enjoy it caz it really really worth to watch ????

Answer to Fayesha Jun 21 2020 4:17 am @Fayesha - The script for this drama won the best script competition in 2018, and you cannot judge the script without watching the entire drama from the premiere to its end. And in this drama, there's a reason for every characters' action. The plot hole will be revealed one by one through out the episodes. So far, I think the script is funny and good enough.

there should be definite reason why the boss hate the intern, being late won't cut his action to be like that. that's too much. but when PHJ accuse the boss steal, that's getting worse.
They cut 5 years of his successful life, but viewer needs to know how he can achieve it, rather than just skip those important lesson.
PHJ new company rather wants to destroy him, even for being the best. that's really an absurd writing.
bringing is old bully boss just to make drama have entanglement with MC is the most simple writer can do.

Park Hae-Jin and Kim Eung-Soo's wonderful chemistry successfully pulls off messages on embracing team collaboration. Sweet revenge it is for Ga Yeol Chan but Lee Man Sik proves that Old Dogs still knows a few tricks.

I didn't watch some of his old drama since they're not available or have no eng sub, however I think some of them are promising. He was good in supporting roles and antagonist. In general he's good when it's not a romantic drama . I think he never has a chemistry with a co star and even funnier in so yoong my daughter he has more chemistry with his sister than both of his love interests. So yeah I think this drama is gonna be good since it has an interesting plot.
Hae Jin trash May 26 2020 10:04 am First I watch because of PHJ and I don't follow forest cause of the storyline. I found this interesting and yes im not wrong . I love every feels I got from watching this. Hae Jin potray a really good act! He's bringing sad and funny but strict feeling. The other cast also bring this story lively. I laugh and sad as in every scenes. Pd-nim Im having a high hope on this. My new fav drama ❤
Somehow I hope mr. Lee plot twist where he will be a good guy after spending time with Yeol chan and realized of what he did in the past. Ep1 hurt me to see the suicide happen. '< They both have the chemistry ❤ P/s: Park Hae Jin oppa I hope you can get a role in commercial after this drama. Lol
